How can we help?
Answers to what players ask most. Still stuck? Ask on our Discord or write to us.
Getting started
Is Sakura free?
Yes. Sakura is free during the beta. Coins, which you can buy, are only for cosmetics.
What do I need to play?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC and a Minecraft: Java Edition account. The download page has the details.
Which version of Minecraft is it?
Sakura runs Minecraft 26.1.2, and joins servers on other versions as the version each server takes.
Is there a Mac or Linux version?
Not for now. Sakura is for Windows 10 and 11.
Do I need a Sakura account?
Yes, during the beta. It’s free, and it keeps your friends, cosmetics and settings with you on every PC. You still play Minecraft with your own Microsoft account.
Can I bring my settings from another launcher?
Yes. In the launcher’s Settings › General › Import, Sakura brings over your keybinds, settings, servers, resource and shader packs, and copies of the worlds you pick, from the official launcher, Lunar, Prism, Modrinth, CurseForge and others. It never takes mods or accounts.
Playing
Can I use my own mods?
Yes, Fabric mods from Modrinth. Add them on the launcher’s Mods page, or in the game’s Fabric mods window. Sakura loads only mods that Modrinth hosts.
Can I use shaders, resource packs and data packs?
Yes. Turn on Shader packs in the launcher’s Settings, then choose one in the game’s Shader packs window. Resource packs and data packs have windows of their own, with Modrinth’s a press away.
Can I play with my friends?
Yes. Join a friend’s server in one click from Friends, or bring friends straight into the world you’re playing, with no server to set up.
Will servers let me play with Sakura?
Yes. Sakura has no cheats. Each server sets its own rules about client mods, so switch off any a server doesn’t allow. Safe and fair says more.
Why is my game laggy?
Turn on Lag check: it shows whether the lag is your PC or the server. In the game’s Settings, Tune to this computer picks video settings that suit your PC.
When something’s wrong
Windows says it protected my PC.
That’s only because Sakura is new. Select More info, then Run anyway. The download page shows how.
The game crashed. What now?
Press Play again: the launcher checks Sakura’s files and repairs anything that changed. If it keeps crashing, tell us with Report a bug. Crash details reach us on their own.
Sakura can’t connect.
Check your internet first. Sakura tries several ways to reach our servers on its own, but a VPN or proxy on your PC can get in the way, so try without one. Still stuck? Ask on our Discord.
How do I report a bug?
Choose Report a bug on the game’s main menu, or in the launcher’s Settings › About. If we fix it, you get 300 coins and your name in the release notes.
Your account
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password? and we’ll email you a code to set a new one.
Can I change my email or username?
Not yourself yet. Write to [email protected] from your account’s email address and we’ll help.
How do I delete my account?
Email [email protected] from your account’s address, and we’ll delete it and its data. The privacy policy has the details.
Coins and cosmetics
What are coins for?
Cosmetics: capes, auras, arms, hats and more. Choose them in the Store, and wear them from the Locker, in the game, the launcher or on the website.
How do I get coins?
Buy them on sakuraclient.com, on your account’s Coins page. During the beta you also get coins for playing early, for each friend you bring who plays, and for a bug we fix.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are final, as the terms explain. If you were charged and didn’t get your coins, or were charged twice, write to [email protected] and we’ll put it right.
Can I give a cosmetic to a friend?
Yes. Choose the friend from the Store, or the cosmetic from Friends, and it’s theirs at once.
